On Tuesday night council voted to sell an empty block known as Glovers Lane Reserve, located at 29-31 Laman Street.

Mark Sampson, spokesman for the Glovers Lane Residents Action Group, said the land comprised two residentally zoned lots that for the past 40 years had been used as a park, with posted reserve conditions.

“It’s a pocket park, a hidden gem,” Mr Sampson said. “It’s an oasis and it is important for residents of a high-density housing area.”

Mr Sampson said the group would during the next fortnight lobby council for a rescission motion.
